Chen Jia Gou: Chen Village.

Chen Jia Taijiquan: Chen Family Tai Chi Chuan. Attributed to Chen Wang Ting, this style of Taijiquan developed as the secret style of the Chen family of the village of Chen Jia Gou in Henan province. Believed to be between 300 and 400 years old, the Chen style is the ancestor of the other major styles of Taijiquan. Chen style is popularly characterized by low stances, overtly visible coiling and distinctive power releases or Fa Jing.

Coiling: The spiral body movement that is characteristic of Chen style. The coiling movement is the natural expression of spiral energy being transferred from the legs and waist to the upper extremities.
