Shaolin Culture
On Saturday the 20th of February, Shaolin Culture Kung Fu and Tai Chi school hosted a demo in Bromley’s town center, students were out in force promoting the Martial Arts culture demonstrating many forms both in Tai Chi and Kung Fu, students were handing out leaflets and fortune cookies. To the Chinese, it is the start of the Golden Tiger Year. The Tiger is the third sign in the cycle of Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 animal signs. It is a sign of courage. This fearless and fiery fighter is revered by the ancient Chinese as the sign that wards off the three main disasters of a household: fire, thieves and ghosts. On New Year’s day itself, it is beneficial to celebrate, to be happy, to have smiling faces, and to refrain from scowling, quarrelling, or criticizing anyone.

Shaolin Culture had gradings on Saturday 5th December. The students have worked really hard in both Tai Chi and Kung fu and they all did very well. They will find out if they have passed in the New Year. …
We had a Tiger form workshop last Saturday – 5 hours of hard work and they’ve only learnt half of it. There will be another workshop in the New Year to complete the form. …
Today Shaolin Culture entered into the first Team Shaolin Competition held at Swiss Cottage.
Team Shaolin has been created in order to standardise the level of Shaolin Kung Fu that is being taught outside of the Shaolin Temple in China. For more details visit the Team Shaolin website. The Competition was open to all schools teaching Traditional Shaolin Kung Fu and Chen Style Tai Chi or any individual students thats study these disciplines. …
